On Writing
17 March 2026 Lund
One of my resolutions when I turned 40 was to create a website where I could share some of my writing – and I mean not only academic, but also personal writing. That was back in 2024. Then life happened. Suddenly I found myself more concerned with survival than with starting a website, so things got postponed. Having survived, and having found myself turning 42, I decided to start over.
I love writing. I enjoy speaking and presenting as a teacher, but I love writing. Since 1999 – maybe I write about the significance of that year some other time – writing has been my drug of choice to silence the world. Nevertheless, as with everything I love deeply, I enjoy playing it close to the vest, save for a few people in my life. Some time ago, someone important to me asked why I never shared any personal writing publicly, reminding me of my abandoned website project. In retrospect, maybe it was less a question and more a request. I don’t know, and I can no longer ask which one it was. But I decided to grant the wish now anyway.
I am not exactly sure what I will write about on this website. Work maybe? Maybe life? I suspect my mood will dictate that. I only hope that you will find something that resonates with you.
As with so many things in my life, it is late and imperfect, feeling both strange and necessary, but I guess it is enough that I have begun.
Welcome.
